What is the origin of Au clair de la lune?
Some say there are hidden meanings behind this popular French folk song dating back to 1843. It's sang as a children song that everybody in France knows. It's also commonly used in music classes as a beginners' song when learning an instrument.
The lyrics is about a boy who went out at night to see his friend Pierrot. But Pierrot is already in bed, and told him to go check with the girl next door.
